One Old Media Brand That Gets It

Kevan's LONNGGG Radio History:

Kevan loves being on the radio. His dry, sarcastic, funny, loose and relaxed on air style has been his trademark sound. Kevan moved to Tulsa from Valley Forge, Pennsylvania at the age of 12 (big culture shock for a boy of 12). Kevan attended Nimitz Junior High, and Memorial Senior High, and because his Father was transferred to Duncan, Kevan ended up starting his radio career in Duncan, Oklahoma in the early 80's at KRHD, then after serving his country in the U.S. Army, Kevan, over the years worked his way from KTQN in Belton, Texas, WRFY in Reading Pennsylvania, WMGQ in New Brunswick, New Jersey all the way up to Philadelphia’s top radio stations;
B-101.1, WBEB, then Star 104.5 WYXR and hosted a video music T.V. show in Philly, then moved to New York City in 1995 working for 95.5 WPLJ, one of the countries biggest Top 40 stations.

Kevan left major market TV/radio and returned to Tulsa in the summer of ‘99 to be near family (Kevan's Dad resides here). Kevan Married in 2001 and the couple gave birth to a little girl in August of 2002. Also in 2002, Kevan ended up getting together a nationally sydicated show called "The BIG 20 countdown with Kevan Seal" which ended up with 13 affiliates all over the U.S. in only 5 short months until the syndicator (Zeo radio Networks) ended up dissolving.

Kevan is a 2nd generation radio personality, his Father, Jim Seal worked for the Armed forces radio network during the Vietnam war and did radio during the birth of Rock and roll in Philadelphia in the late 50’s and early 60’s. Jim Seal was also on the air in Denver at KIMN and in Houston. To follow in his Fathers’ Rock & Roll heritage and vast experience in radio and television has always been Kevan’s goal, and his Father has been his key mentor.

Kevan Seal is the Morning Anchor for Kool 106.1, and is also the Program Director, responsible for the overall sound of Classic Top 40, the New KOOL 106.1. He also created the new Saturday night show "Automatic 80's", a show that brings the music of the old MTV back to the radio. Kevan also just launched a brand new station in Tulsa called "93.5 CHROME FM". This is a brand new 50's and 60's channel on your FM dial that you may also enjoy.

Yes, he is busy due to the fact he is The Director of public affairs for all of the Clear Channel radio station's 97.5 KMOD, KOOL 106.1, 92.1 The Beat, The Buzz sports network on both 1300am KAKC and 1430am "The BUZZ" along with 93.5 Chrome FM and hosts a weekly public affairs program known as "Hot Topic" that runs on all 7 stations. This 30 minute talk program allows Kevan to showcase local causes of community interest in accordance with F.C.C law. Kevan LOVES to hear from you, feel free to write in comments about the New Kool 106.1 Classic top 40, or just ask Kevan questions. E-mail Kevan at Kevan@Kooltulsa.com

Also, you can here Kevan on local and national televison as the voice for long narrations for documentaries on The Military Channel and other documentaries. Kevan is also heard on TV commercials both locally and nationally.

He is also the voice for radio stations all over the U.S. and LOVES his work.

What Bill Gates said to a High school group about kids. INTERESTING!
Friday 10-30-2009 8:59am CT

Love him or hate him , he sure hits the nail on the head with this!

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1
: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2
: The world doesn't care about your
self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3
: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4
: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss

Rule 5
: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6
: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault , so don 't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7
: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8
: Your school may have don e away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9
: Life is not divided into semesters. You don 't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10
: Television is NOT real life In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11
: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

If you agree, pass it on.
if you don 't agree stick your head in the sand and take a deep breath!
If you can read this -Thank a teacher!
If you can read this in English thank a soldier!!!

Remember Saturday Mornings as a kid? (no, not you 20 somethings :-)
Tuesday 10-27-2009 12:45pm CT

Saturday mornings when I was around 9!

1976

More live action shows were on the schedules again this year, thanks to the success of last year's entries. Networks continue to shake up their schedules mid-season, it will remain a yearly custom.

America Rocks', the Bicentennial version of 'Schoolhouse Rock', was seen on ABC in 1976. Big, Blue Marble was popular in syndication.

"I have a clear recollection of the Saturday 1976 season being called 'Sunshine Saturday Morning' and had it's own little theme song:

"It's a Sunshine Saturday Morning
This fall on NBC Got it made in the Sunshine,
Got it made in the Shade."
