Basically, you know all those "guilty pleasure" songs you love from the 80's and 90's that you haven't had time (or maybe that's just me) to put into one playlist for your Ipod ???
GenX is that playlist.
The best hits from grunge, hip hop, Hair Bands, Boy Bands and more ... and of course your favorite artists: U2, Eminem, Dave Matthews, Madonna and - N'sync.
And the good news is ... there's no uploading ... no picking the best songs of the album ... no dragging and dropping.
You know all the clothes from the 80s and 90s are making a comeback? Denim jackets, tights under skirts, and slap bracelets are all back...
And now they're stealing our music. Eminem has a song out there that uses "What Is Love" in the chorus. There's a song by an artist called Auburn that samples that "All Around the World" song from ATC. Flo Rida's made a living off of sampling Dead or Alive and Eiffel 65.
And now, they're digging even deeper. Somebody sent me this song today, and YES, that's a Suzanne Vega "Toms Diner" sample. Seriously.
But I did have to hijack her blog to share some total awesomeness for you.
Oh, and hi...Jonathan - Gen X's manager here.
So you might've heard that Debbie Gibson and Tiffany, the ultimate 80s pop divas/punchlines, are going to BOTH be in a new SyFy B movie called Mega Python vs. Gatoroid.
It won't be out until next year, but here's what we know. They're arch enemies. And they're both irrelevant. And now, thanks to our friends at SyFy, we have some video footage.
Enjoy an all-out, hair pulling, boob adjusting, b-word flinging catfight between Debbie and Tiffany. And then wait for the bad 80s song reference at the end :)
Oh, and YOURE WELCOME!
Nothing Compares ...

But we want your old yearbook/senior/school pics!
Got a lot of responses to our Gen X "Census" and one of the things you guys really seem to want is a lot of old pics of our listeners. So we're doing it for ya :)
Coming soon, we'll have a "Kickin It Old School" section on the website. Old TV clips, music videos, nostalgia stuff - all the stuff that made Gen X what it is. Part of that is that we want to have an "Awesomely Bad" section that includes some listener pics from back in the day. The worse the outfit, the higher the hair, the crazier the background, the better. Can't be worse than THIS guy. But, to do it, we gotta get some of your pics!
We'll change the theme about every month, but we wanna start off with Yearbook Pics - so if you have an old school picture that you wouldn't mind re-visiting on our site, send it our way!!
What kind of stuff would you like to see on our website at genxtulsa.com?
Do you think Gen X Radio should have a morning show?
Do you think Gen X Radio should have an on-air staff during the rest of the day (after 10 am?)
Any other suggestions?
It's been a while ...
Thursday 03-04-2010 1:19pm CT
So it's been a while since I've written. Really written anyway.
I think maybe it's because I don't feel like anything exciting or worth telling has been happening. (And I don't mean at the station, because all the knew stuff happening with GenX is awesome!) I more mean with my personal life. Which, if you read this, is generally what I write about.
The thing is, my life has been boring lately. A lot of reality tv. A lot of laundry. A lot of really good intentions of losing weight and not following through. A lot of watching the phone to see if it's gonna ring. lol.
So, here's to being more productive. To meeting new people to actually go out and do things with. Here's to being as excited about my social life as I am about the music we're playing.
Anyone up for a little Vanilla Ice Karaoke?

So this is kind of exciting because I remember wailing "Mmmbop" as a kid even though I really didn't know what syllables to say at what times.
Soooo, Hanson loves us. No, seriously. Zac Hanson (he's the cute little drummer boy) posted a link on Twitter last night that takes you to their website blog.
That blog is about...US!!! WOOHOO!!! It's a video of Zac jamming out to Salt 'n Pepa on Gen X last night. Don't worry, Zac, I won't tell anybody that you love chick music.
